How to Get Your Student to Stop Liking You
It’s common for students to start liking their teachers. This can occasionally develop into hero worship or even an unhealthy fixation. How, therefore, can you prevent them from liking you?
There are lots of ways! Continue reading for some suggestions that could help you avoid the hate!
1. Be stern but courteous
Keeping a professional distance from your pupil is one of the easiest ways to stop them from liking you. When telling them what to do, be polite but strong, and keep your distance.
For the first few weeks, this could be challenging, especially if you’ve previously had success making friends with your kids outside of the classroom.
But doing so is essential to avoiding hero worship in the future! Don’t add them as Facebook friends. Make sure they are aware of your efforts to maintain a professional relationship between you two.
Be stern with your regulations. Be tough but courteous while enforcing the rules, and let them know they can’t get away with breaking them. However, don’t let your pupils tramp all over you!
If someone likes you too much, they might just use you for their gain. Always be nice and firm whether they are complimenting you, complaining to you, or asking you a question.
